United We Stand

I haven’t felt inspired to write in two years. That changed today after I gathered with strangers on Main Street in the small town of Chandler, Oklahoma. There were about three dozen of us, from places like Shroud, Shawnee, and even a couple from New Jersey. A frog and penguin were there.

I was really surprised by the response of the locals that drove by. Some silent watching, a few rude hand gestures, and a lot of honks and waves. All but a couple of long-haul truckers gave us their salute. We even got cheered by the Chandler Lions Softball team as they were heading to the State Championships.

This is what Democracy looks like.

This is what Community looks like.

This is what Unity looks like.

I feel lighter than I have in a long time.

  1. It was a glorious day! We took Elli to her 1st protest at the Capitol building in Denver… there was magic in the air! Still feeling lifted by the experience! WE will not go quietly…
